General Engineering

The benefits of fluoropolymer coatings within the engineering industry are substantial. Processes can be made to run more efficiently with higher machine speeds due to lower friction which in turn, reduces wear and power consumption in applications such as:

  • Machine Slides
  • Rotating Shafts
  • Bearings
  • Hinges
  • Seals
  • Fasteners
  • Lead Screws
  • Jigs & Fixtures

Processing equipment coated with a non stick coating can benefit from a significant reduction in build up of process materials or dust, therefore saving money in wasted product and reducing clean down time.

We have a wide range of coatings that offer superb low friction properties, some can be internally reinforced with ceramic or metallic fillers which offer increased resistance to abrasion, with only a small increase in coefficient of friction.

Corrosion resistant coatings can offer long lasting protection against atmospheric conditions or even very harsh acids, alkalis or solvents.

Fasteners will operate far more smoothly, resist corrosion and can be more accurately pre-loaded when a thin layer of PTFE coating is applied. Most of the frictional forces generated during tightening by the thread to thread contact will be eliminated. The fasteners will be far less liable to loosening under vibration and disassembly is simpler, even after very long periods.
